The breakwater will be of rough unhewn blocks of granite weighing from three quarters of a ton to two tons, tipped from a temporary staging built out quarried with a tramway from the Government quarries as far as point B (See plan). From this point as far as A, rails will continue from time to time to be laid upon the solid structure itself as it gradually rises to formation level, and when the whole is completed, the timber staging will be removed, leaving a clear passage of 18 yards to form the Eastern half.
